Dachshund Colors and Patterns can be confusing and Dachshunds has the most colors and patterns I believe of any breed

And some here I haven't even named.

Colors Dachshund Come In

 

(Some of these colors are bred standard and some are not included in the Breed Standard but can happen)

 

Red

standard breed color

Color comes in Smooth, Wire, and Long Hair

Red Sable

standard breed color

(Color only comes in long Hair)

Sorry But very hard to find a Red Sable

Red Sable is a Red Long hair dachshund with black tips on the top part

of the hair shaft of the dachshund but will display what looks to be like tan marks like a black/tan

It will look like a black/tan long hair from afar.

Wheaton

standard breed color

(Color comes in Wire only)

Soft Coat Wheaton Wire Hair

Wildboar

standard breed color

(Color comes in Wire  and Smooth only)

 

The Color Looks like a  wild boar pig. The hair shaft is red and black

Comes in Wire and Smooth

(Same basic color of hair shaft of a Red Sable but considered Wildboar in smooth and wire)

Black/Tan

standard breed color

Color comes in Smooth, Wire, and Long Hair

 

Isabella (fawn)/Tan

standard breed color

Color comes in Smooth, Wire, and Long Hair

 

Blue/Tan

standard breed color

Color comes in Smooth, Wire, and Long Hair

Shaded Cream

standard breed color is Cream

Color comes in  Long Hair but can occur in smooth and wire

Cream

standard breed color is Cream

Color comes in  Long Hair but can occur in smooth and wire

Black/Cream

Cream Dapple

Solid

standard breed pattern

Occurs in all coat types and Colors

 

Piebald

standard breed pattern

Occurs in all coat types and Colors

Black/Tan Piebald with Ticking

Blue/Tan Piebald with No Ticking

Black/Tan Irish Spotted Piebald with Ticking

Dapple

standard breed pattern

(Dappling on the Red and Cream dapples can fade and can be mistaken a solid color)

Occurs in all coat types and Colors

Hidden Dapple

Still a dapple just hidden and hard to see by Naked Eye

(There is a test to test your doxie to see if it is a hidden dapple)

Little Bit is also a Sold Black which makes her a

Solid Black Dapple

Dapple Piebald

A Dapple Piebald is two patterns on One Doxie

Where as a Double Dapple is one Pattern Not Two

Not a standard breed pattern

Occurs in all coat types and Colors

 

Red Dapple Piebald

Blue/Tan Dapple Piebald

Born in 2007

   

Brindle

standard breed pattern

Tiger like stripes all over the body or In the Tan Marks

Occurs in all coat types and colors but can be seen better on a Red brindle  or  Cream Brindle

(Here you can see it on a blue/tan brindle)

RED BRINDLE

Brindle Piebald

 Grooming once or twice a year and non- shedding

Hair should be Stripped not Cut

Chocolate/Tan Wire Hair

 

 

 

Soft wire

Not a standard breed coat type

Combination of wire and long hair gene Softer coat then a regular wire

But still wire cause of the beard. Easy to Grooming non- shedding

Hair can be cut and not stripped
